JOHANNESBURG - The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) and the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) have vowed to ensure that the dismissed 213 Sibanye-Stillwater workers return to work.
The mineworkers affiliated with the unions demonstrated underground for access to dividends from the employee share ownership scheme.
Over 1,500 mineworkers met with union representatives from both NUM and AMCU on Sunday.
AMCU president, Joseph Mathunjwa, said the union would hand over a letter of dispute to the mine's management.
"We will finish this matter quickly, we will send a letter declaring a dispute of mutual interest, emanating from wage agreements because at this stage we do not see eye to eye."
