JOHANNESBURG - The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has urged anyone in possession of 50ml single-use neutralising shampoo in Dark and Lovely Moisture Plus to discontinue its use immediately.
L'Oreal, the manufacturer, informed the NCC that it detected the presence of bacteria in the product after quality controls.
The product was produced in 2023 and distributed nationally and exported to neighbouring countries such as Zambia and Eswatini, among other countries.
NCC spokesperson, Pheto Ntaba, said that consumers should stop using this shampoo.
"At the moment, we are urging South Africans to take it back to the point of purchase, as using this shampoo may lead to scalp infections, especially in those that have compromised immune systems."
