Hijackers are moving away from their usual targets like Toyotas and Volkswagens.
A recent article on TopAuto says these criminals have turned their focus to commercial vehicles such as courier vans as they often carry valuable goods and cash.
The article states that fleet crime is on the rise due to the increase in online shopping.
According to the article, Tracker has noted that approximately 81% of reported hijacking incidents saw the theft of fast-moving consumable goods.

"When these guys are transporting the delivery to you, they are transporting a package for the criminals where it's like a one-stop shop for them. If they hijack this thing, it's full of items they can resell without a trace and that's where the problem comes in."
