Maropene Ramokgopa appointed as acting Sports, Arts and Culture Minister
This follows the resignation of Zizi Kodwa, who is accused of corruption.

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed an acting Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, following Zizi Kodwa’s resignation this week.
Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa will step into the portfolio, for now.

Corruption-accused Kodwa resigned from public office with immediate effect on Wednesday.
He is accused of accepting bribes from tech giant EOH between 2015 and 2016.
“The President has appointed Minister Maropene Ramokgopa to act as the Minister until a permanent appointment is made under the new seventh administration,” said spokesperson in The Presidency Vincent Magwenya.
