JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in the Northern Cape has slammed Lindiwe Sisulu over her stance on a possible coalition with the Democratic Alliance (DA).
It said that her actions were uncalled for, considering she'd failed to do any electioneering work in the province.
Sisulu, who's made public her thoughts on a possible ANC-DA coalition, is the Northern Cape national executive committee (NEC) deployee.
She said that a partnership with the DA would be a betrayal for those who strictly voted for the ANC.
The ANC's NEC, which is its highest decision making body in between conferences, is meeting this week to deliberate on several paths towards forming a government.
It failed to secure an outright majority at national level and across several provinces.
ANC Northern Cape secretary, Deshi Ngxanga: "She was never here, not a single day to do the election work since we started the elections process last year. Now she has the audacity to comment on whom we should actually form coalitions with. I think that's totally uncalled for."
