CAPE TOWN - Hawks officer, Captain Edward du Plessis, who is part of the investigation team into the assassination of top cop, Charl Kinnear, is set continue his testimony against alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, on Wednesday.

Modack, along with 14 others, face 124 charges related to racketeering, murder and other crimes, including the murder of Kinnear.

Captain du Plessis is set to continue revealing how Modack and co-accused, Zane Kilian, gained access to Kinnear and criminal defence attorney, William Booth's personal details.

The mammoth trial centres around the murder of Kinnear, who was shot dead in front of his Bishop Lavis home in September 2020 and the attempted murder of Booth outside his Higgovale home in April 2020.

It is the State's case that Modack hired Kilian to trace Kinnear and Booth and gain access to their personal information by using a computer platform designed for police.
