JOHANNESBURG - Former City of Johannesburg Speaker, Colleen Makhubele, said she’s open to working more closely with former President Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Makhubele, who now leads the South African Rainbow Alliance (SARA), referred to Zuma as “our father” during his media briefing at the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)’s national Results Operations Centre (ROC) on Friday.

The MK Party wants a re-vote, a view supported by several small parties that failed to get seats in Parliament.
Makhubele said the IEC’s refusal to postpone its declaration of the elections on Sunday launched the affected parties into several discussions.
“[The] possibilities are endless. If MK wants to talk to SARA and if we as SARA see value in talking to them, which we do, yes, we will make ourselves available for those discussions and see where it ends us.”
