CAPE TOWN - Inclement weather conditions have caused havoc in several parts of the country, with at least 22 deaths reported.
In the Eastern Cape's Nelson Mandela Bay, at least seven people died.
The provincial transport department on Monday also reported that 10 people died from four separate vehicle crashes in different parts of the Eastern Cape since the storms started at the weekend.
Meanwhile, in Tongaat, northern Durban, five people died following a tornado.
Residents in parts of the Free State and Northern Cape took to social media to post photos of a thick blanket of snow outside their homes.
Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected to hit parts of the Western Cape overnight, and flooding is expected.
Meteorologist with Vox Weather, Annette Botha: "There is one very big weather system that we call a cut-off-low weather system but the system is associated with all kinds of different weather systems on its own, so that's exactly what's happening."
