JOHANNESBURG - A Hawks officer is on Tuesday providing expert evidence about cellphone content which aims to implicate alleged underworld figures Jerome 'Donkie' Booysen, Mark Lifman and Andre Naude for various crimes, including the murder of steroid king, Brian Wainstein.
Wainstein was shot dead inside his Constantia home in 2017.
The case heard in the Western Cape High Court also relates to how Booysen allegedly tried to take back security at Cape Town's nightclubs from his rivals, Nafiz Modack and Colin Booysen.
Booysen, Lifman, Naude and their eleven co-accused face 36 charges, among them the murder of Wainstein, and attempts on the lives of Modack and Colin Booysen, among others.
The defence cross-examined Hawk's warrant officer, Mias Engelbrecht, about evidence collected from another witness, Wainstein's former bodyguard, who admits he plotted with Booysen, Lifman and Naude to murder Wainstein.
Evidence presented in court shows Naude called the State witness numerous times in 2017.
The trial continues.
