Eskom urges KZN residents to avoid damaged power infrastructure

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is urging customers to steer clear of any damaged infrastructure and to treat any exposed electronic infrastructure as potentially capable of electrocution.
The utility added that power would be restored soon.
KZN has been experiencing inclement weather that has led to severe flooding and the deaths of several people.

Homes have also been destroyed, while hundreds of people displaced.
The storms have battered Eskom infrastructure, prompting the deployment of technicians to different areas for reparations.
Eskom is pleading with KZN residents to be patient while they continue with the restoration process.
“Eskom is experiencing widespread outages throughout the province due to the storms last night. Some areas are inaccessible so it may take longer to restore power,” Eskom spokesperson Joyce Zigoni.
