JOHANNESBURG - The controversial Phala Phala saga might be back to haunt President Cyril Ramaphosa in Parliament after some parties threatened to revisit the matter.
The threats come after the African National Congress (ANC) failed to secure an outright majority in the recent general elections.

The election results were declared at the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)’s Results Operation Centre in Midrand on Sunday night.
After the ANC suffered a massive blow at the polls, Ramaphosa might be in for another nasty surprise when Parliament begins its work under the seventh democratic administration.
Ramaphosa is accused of concealing the theft of millions of rands in proceeds at his game farm in Limpopo.
He avoided an impeachment process in 2023 when his party closed ranks in Parliament, protecting him from accounting to lawmakers about what happened in Phala Phala.
However, Freedom Front (FF) Plus leader Pieter Groenewald said these elections left the ANC vulnerable.
"I’m going to request that the panel report on the Phala Phala issue must be re-introduced in the National Assembly."
Several investigations into Ramaphosa’s complicity were launched, but he was absolved by the Office of the Public Protector and the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
