JOHANNESBURG - The United Democratic Movement (UDM) has expressed its concerns about the numerous objections and discrepancies in vote counting by various political parties.
It said the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)’s failure to make a decision regarding the recount of certain voting districts was disappointing.

The party is demanding immediate action from the IEC to address these issues and ensure the integrity of the electoral system is upheld.
“During the National Party Liaison Committee [NPLC] meeting held yesterday [Friday], the CEO assured a recount would occur,” said UDM spokesperson Yongama Zigebe.
“However, in today's [Saturday] meeting, it was evident that the PEO had not followed up. This lack of action severely compromises the transparency and integrity of these elections. The fairness and freedom of the electoral process are now in question.”
