Rand Water to pump megalitres overnight to systems affected by interruptions

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water says it has put interventions in place to assist in the recovery of its systems.

Residents in Hursthill, Crosby, and Brixton will be affected on Sunday while the Hursthill 2 reservoir is closed.

The water utility said it was monitoring the recovery of the bulk water supplier's Eikenhof system, as well as the Vereeniging treatment plant, after interruptions in parts of the city.

It said Rand Water had agreed to pump 100 megalitres overnight to help the systems recover.
