JOHANNESBURG - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, says he’s confident the party will be in government as it sets sights on forming part of a coalition arrangement.
The EFF has been overtaken by former president Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, which is currently in third place on the national ballot.

"A decisive majority" was the phrase used by the EFF before the 29 May election to describe the party’s targets.
However, the organisation has come to accept that it may have to enter into coalition arrangements to form part of the seventh administration.
Despite the party trailing behind the ANC, Democratic Alliance (DA) and MK party, Shivambu insists they’re content with the party’s performance.
“What we are going to do as the EFF is to talk to all political parties to constitute a government.”
Although the vote-counting process continues Shivambu has accepted that the MK party has taken the red berets’ spot
