JOHANNESBURG - The Azanian People's Organisation (AZAPO) has lauded South Africans for responding to the call to come out in their numbers to vote.
AZAPO said despite the glitches with the IEC systems, South Africans were not discouraged, demonstrating a determination to bring about change.
The party has also expressed its disappointment that it did not amass enough votes to get seats in Parliament, but says it will regroup to launch a better challenge in the next elections.
AZAPO's Jabu Rakwena:
"The voters were not deterred and stood in those long queues to cast their vote. This demonstrated the determination to bring about change and send a strong message to the ruling elite that the power of the citizens must never be undermined through arrogance and lack of care."
