JOHANNESBURG - The MK Party says it's not shocked by its performance so far.
Jacob Zuma's new party is pulling significant numbers on the leaderboard at the results operation centre, despite being formed half a year ago and competing in national and provincial elections for the first time.
The MK Party says it's not shocked by the massive inroads it has made so far, as the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) continues to count the votes from Wednesday's pivotal elections.

The MK Party appears to be punching above its weight so far.
Although only 20% of the voting districts have been tallied so far, the MK Party has over 180,000 votes on the national ballot.
The party is also leading in KwaZulu-Natal, so far coming in above the African National Congress (ANC) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in the province.
MK Party member Duduzile Zuma is making the rounds on the floor of the national results operations centre and had this to say: "I think that's interesting but also something we've been working towards, so we're not really surprised or too shocked and we're happy. We were expecting two-thirds majority so wherever we land, we'll be happy."
With thousands of votes still to be tallied, a different picture could still emerge.
