JOHANNESBURG - The MK Party in Gauteng says the mark that it has made on the province’s results board is only the beginning, as they plan to win the province.

With over 15% of the provincial votes counted, the party is sitting on 9.9% of support in the province so far, almost neck-and-neck with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

That’s more than both the Freedom Front Plus and ActionSA, who have been battling it out for the fifth spot, currently with over 2% of support.

But the MK’s provincial coordinator, Thabang Nkani, said that judging by the turnout at their manifesto launch, they expect to come out on top, beating the African National Congress (ANC).

"Those people were never bussed [in] but they were filing Orlando Stadium. In fact, the whole of Soweto was green on the day. The ruling party that is claiming numbers now, they have failed after."
