Free State Premier says it was a good voting day in the province
The premier is among those monitoring the ever-changing figures on the screens at the results operation centre in Bloemfontein.

BLOEMFONTEIN- Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana said that despite a few technical glitches at polling stations, election day in the province went well.
The premier is among those monitoring the ever-changing figures on the screens at the results operation centre in Bloemfontein.
He said that he was not surprised that some of the voter management devices went offline.
"Technology has a way of also disappointing, so we are expecting that it would come short and it did. We are happy that the IEC moved swiftly to ensure that they go to manual and no people were turned away but allowed to cast their votes."
Dukwana said it was important that people made their mark.
"So we are excited with the developments in our province, and we know that this is very important in many respects that our people cast their votes."
Around 160 811 votes have been confirmed in the Free State thus far, this is 33.01 percent of the vote cast in the province, the ANC is leading with 85 138, followed by the DA with 35 007 and the EFF at 19 906 votes. #ElectionSA2024 @_NMabaso pic.twitter.com/3ESp763ERt
