JOHANNESBURG - Some parties believe that talks of coalitions are still premature as they hedge their bets ahead of the announcement of election results.
The counting of votes is expected to take a few more days after millions of South Africans cast their ballots on Wednesday.

While only about 20% of voting districts have been concluded, some opinion polls have again put the African National Congress (ANC) below 50%.
ActionSA, which is part of the Multi-Party Charter, said that it would only map out a way forward after the final results had been tallied.
"I think it's too early for that. I think we need results that we can talk about with a bit more credibility in terms of where we stand but, certainly, there was always the intention that right after this election, we would sit down, explore the numbers, we would explore the political parties that are like-minded but are not involved in the charter itself and look at pathways that might be the best possible outcomes for South Africans," said ActionSA spokesperson, Micheal Beaumont.
