As vote counting continues, ANC's Mantashe surprised by MK Party's performance in KZN
The newly-formed party, led by former president Jacob Zuma is leading the polls in KZN so far with over 42 percent.

JOHANNESBURG - As vote counting continues across the country, African National Congress (ANC) chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, said that the performance of the MK Party in Kwazulu-Natal was shocking.
The newly-formed party, led by former president, Jacob Zuma, is leading the polls in KZN so far, with over 42%.
So far, the ANC is coming in second, with close to 21%.

Mantashe said that the numbers were unexpected.
"I must say KZN surprised me a great deal. I expected IFP to do well, but the MK is doing well and that surprised me."
