JOHANNESBURG - Former state president Kgalema Motlanthe underscored the importance of the 2024 elections to the country.
Motlanthe cast his ballot at the Killarney Country Club on Wednesday morning and made no secret of his vote for the ruling party - the African National Congress.
He conceded that voting alone wouldn't solve all of the country's problems, but encouraged all South Africans to exercise their right for the good of the nation's democracy.
“It marks a major milestone in our journey into our democracy and we are building this democracy because it’s not a complete package that once declared it takes care of every facet of life. Democracy is built brick by brick, patiently and you learn as you do.
