GEORGE - Some elderly people in Thembalethu township in George said that they were disappointed that they could not vote on Tuesday despite applying for special voting.
It is the final day of special voting, with more than 1.5 million people registered to cast their ballots countrywide.
Isolated technical glitches have been reported at some voting stations.
However, the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is satisfied with the voting process.
The Tyholora Primary School is one of more than 23,000 voting stations in South Africa.
The voting district is an African National Congress (ANC) stronghold in a town where the Democratic Alliance (DA) has the majority of seats in council.
Sixty-year-old Cikizwa Koyingana told Eyewitness News that her name not appearing for a special vote would not deter her from queuing on Wednesday to cast her vote.
"I'm not entirely happy, but I'm OK knowing that tomorrow I will be able to vote. I've been voting since 1994."
Koyingana said she hopes her vote will help bring changes to the country that will benefit future generations.
