JOHANNESBURG - Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has sent out a message that the people who looted trucks during a taxi blockade on the N2 should return the goods or face arrest.
Multiple trucks were looted on Monday, while being used by protesting taxi operators to block off traffic.
The aggrieved drivers took to the streets over police confiscating their guns as part of a murder investigation.
Mabuyane said that looting was a criminal act and that the law would be enforced.
"We told people that they must bring back those things. If we find them in their homes they must know that they are criminals, they will be prosecuted. They will be arrested."
