DURBAN - With day two of special voting underway across the country, Democratic Alliance (DA) KwaZulu-Natal premier candidate Christopher Pappas is one of those who have made their mark today.

Pappas cast his vote in Howick, which falls under the Umgeni Local Municipality where he is currently mayor.

It was a quick in and out for Pappas, who cast his vote at the Thembelihle Primary School.

Pappas says he's confident the party will make major inroads in KZN in this election.

"My message to all the voters out there in KZN is don’t lose faith in democracy as a vehicle to bring change. You hire and you fire with your vote, you can either hire the people who are in power now or you can fire them," he said.

Pappas said that despite a few glitches with the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa systems on Monday, he remained confident the body would iron out any issues that may arise speedily.
