CAPE TOWN - Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen is conducting a special vote oversight tour to check IEC facilities in Cape Town.

He was joined by Western Cape Premier Alan Winde, DA provincial leader, Tertuis Simmers, and Cape Town mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis.

Steenhuisen said that this election was South Africa’s most important since 1994.

Winde, who remains the DA's premier candidate in the province, said that it was critical for registered voters to cast their ballots.

"Every single vote counts. We need to make sure we win the Western Cape. Your vote is going help us win the Western Cape."

Simmers joined Winde and Steenhuisen at a voting station in Delft, where he echoed the sentiments.

"If you are registered for a special vote at home or at your voting station, please ensure that you cast your vote."

The three DA leaders are also visiting a voting station in Mitchells Plain.
