After a 6-month recruitment process, Moshabela has been chosen to take the reins as the UCT Vice Chancellor (VC).
He has previously served as the deputy VC of University of KwaZulu Natal.
Moshabela says that there is a shared sentiment that he is taking over a bruised institution.
The university feels fractured and wants to become more cohesive, heal, and course correct, he adds.
“They are hoping to bring that glory they are used to at UCT.”
