Des Van Rooyen casts early ballot in Khutsong, says MK here to clean up ANC's mess

JOHANNESBURG - Former finance minister and now a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, Des Van Rooyen, has marked the ballot paper on Monday afternoon.
Van Rooyen, a former African National Congress (ANC) member accused of state capture, voted at his hometown in Khutsong, near Carletonville.
The Zondo Commission report found the controversial Gupta family was heavily involved in his appointment as finance minister for just a day.

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, he said that the MK party was here to clean up the ANC's mess.
"We are here to make a mark for the first time since the new dispensation, a mark against the ANC, a mark using our brand, uMkhonto weSizwe, to ensure that we complete what was started by our forebears, what was started by our ancestors," said Van Rooyen.
