JOHANNESBURG - Twenty-eight Bangladeshi nationals have been denied entry into the country after being found in possession of fraudulent travel documents at OR Tambo International Airport.
The Border Management Authority (BMA) said the group were caught at the weekend following an intelligence-led operation on a flight from Dubai.
It’s understood they had fake visitor visas, while one of them did not have any documents at all.
BMAspokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi said they were on high alert across all ports of entry.
"The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority, Dr Michael Masiapato, has commended the interception by the BMA immigration officials. Commissioner Masiapato also emphasised the need for continued efforts in confiscating illegal documents, especially at this critical time of elections."
