Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the African National Congress (ANC)’s rally at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, Lamola clarified that Ajay and Atul Gupta were still on the run.
He said there’s no clarity as to whether the two who have been arrested are linked to the brothers wanted for looting state-owned enterprises.
“It’s not Ajay and Atul Gupta as per the warrant of arrest by the South African authorities. So these are different family members. I don’t even know whether they are related or not. Our High Commission in India is still investigating. This is a preliminary investigation.”
