POLOKWANE - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says whatever happens following the elections, his party will accept the will of the people.
Malema was speaking ahead of his party’s final rally set to take place on Saturday, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
He spent most of the afternoon on Friday meeting with communities in Seshego’s Zone 1, which included gifting an elderly couple with a house and donating facilities to a local school.
Malema said the EFF has run a solid campaign and is ready for the polls.
Malema’s strained voice is a telltale sign of how gruelling this election season has been on the EFF's leader.
He said it’s up to the electorate to decide the way forward.
“We will accept the willingness of the voice of the people of South Africa, whatever the outcome. We will not have any queries because we campaigned, and no one stopped us. We spoke to our people.”
Having finalised the training of party agents, the leader of the red berets said final touches were in place, including preparing food for their agents who’ll man the different voting stations across the country.
A usually confident Malema has also seemingly made peace with the possibility of not doing well in these elections.
“If the people did not receive the message, it means we still need more time to work on convincing our people with regard to voting for the EFF.”
The EFF leader will deliver his final message to the country ahead of the polls on Saturday afternoon.
