ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to address the party’s ground forces later in the afternoon.
While gates opened at 7am, buses transporting ANC supporters are yet to start arriving at the FNB Stadium.
Currently, sound checks are being done and the party’s security marshals are preparing to ensure the "Siyanqoba" rally is free of trouble.
The ANC has spent the last three months engaging communities, the business sector, and religious organisations in hopes of maintaining its majority.
This comes after several polls have predicted that the party would dip below the 50% margin, forcing it into a coalition arrangement.
Meanwhile, the ANC said it is confident the stadium will be filled.
