Ramaphosa praises late DA veteran James Selfe's contributions to Parliament

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has added to the tributes paid to Democratic Alliance (DA) veteran, James Selfe, offering his condolences to his friends and colleagues.
The former parliamentarian died this week, aged 68.
He's been remembered for his contribution to various parliamentary committees.
Ramaphosa said that as a long-serving member of Parliament, Selfe performed his democratic duty from the opposition benches with rigor and respect for his political adversaries.
The President said that as a member of Parliament’s justice and correctional services portfolio committee, Selfe had an unshakeable determination to rid the country of crime.
He said that Selfe’s practice of liberalism, enriched party engagement across party lines.
He added that Selfe made many valuable contributions to the country’s legislative reforms.
