Astron Energy, with its eye-catching orange and purple branding, was established in South Africa in 2018.
They have over 800 retail sites and own a refinery in Cape Town.
South Africa currently imports the bulk of its refined fuel products but local refiners like Astron play a huge role in contributing to energy security.
Myendeki believes local refining capacity plays a key role in sustainability and Astron plans to contribute even more.
“As Astron Energy we see a lot of upsides in terms of the future prospects of the country and will probably be making additional investments into the refining capacity and energy securitisation of the country.”
