ICJ set to deliver order in SA's application on Friday

CAPE TOWN - The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is set to deliver its order on Friday, in which South Africa is asking it to put a stop to Israel’s military operations in Rafah.
South Africa delivered oral arguments before the court in The Hague a week ago, appealing for it to modify the provisional measures it issued in January and April.

Israel responded saying South Africa had given the court a distorted picture of the situation on the ground, and it has the right to defend itself.

The order comes on the back of the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan on Monday, applying for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as three of Hamas’ top leaders for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The ICJ’s court president, Nawaf Salam, is expected to read Friday’s order in a public sitting.
