Former Constitutional Court Justice Yvonne Mokgoro to be laid to rest in Joburg
Justice Yvonne Mokgoro, who passed away in hospital earlier in May, has been honoured with a special official funeral category one.

JOHANNESBURG - Late former Constitutional Court judge Justice Yvonne Mokgoro will be laid to rest in Johannesburg on Thursday.
Mokgoro has been honoured with a special official funeral category one. She passed away in May at the age of 73 in hospital.

Her family said she suffered health setbacks after sustaining multiple injuries in a serious car crash near Kimberley in Northern Cape, in 2023.
As part of the special official funeral, flags have been flying at half-mast since Sunday.
“The distinguishing features of a special official funeral in this category include ceremonial elements by the South African National Defence Force in recognition of a distinguished career and contribution to the nation,” said spokesperson in The Presidency Vincent Magwenya.
