CAPE TOWN - The new Makhaza Police Station in Khayelitsha is making a difference.
On Tuesday, three hijacking suspects were arrested by patrol officers who had spotted a suspicious white bakkie with three occupants.
It's been a week since Police Minister, Bheki Cele opened the temporary station, following widespread outcry from residents calling for their own police station.
Police spokesperson, Bilqis Poole: "Upon testing the vehicle, the members discovered that the vehicle was highjacked in Harare earlier. They manage to pull over the vehicle and arrested the three occupants for being in possession of the hijacked vehicle. Once charged, the adult male suspects will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ court on the above-mentioned charge."
