The iconic frontman, songwriter and bassist for The Police, Sting is making headlines.
Sting's son, Giacomo Sumner (28) is the youngest of four and has officially graduated as a police officer.
Of course, the irony of Sumner's career is not lost among fans of the popular 1970s band as many pointed out that Sting's son will join the actual police (in uniform) and not revive his dad's band.
The Police split up in 1986 before creating multiple number one hits with songs such as, 'Message in a Bottle,' 'Walking on the Moon' and 'Every Breath You Take.'
Sting has created a legendary solo career since the band's split while raising kids who have followed careers in music, acting, film making and now policing.
It's reported that Sumner said on social media: 'Becoming a police officer has been my dream since I was 13.'
Sting (Gordon Sumner, 72) and his wife (Trudie Styler, 70) attended their youngest child's graduation.
In past reports, Sting revealed that he encourages his kids to create their own path (and money) because they will not be able to live off his alleged £300 million fortune.
“All my kids rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate. Obviously, if they were in trouble I’d help them, but I’ve never really had to do that. They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own.”
- Sting
Clearly, Sting's words resonated with Giacomo who is living his dream.
