CAPE TOWN - The National Joint Operational Structure (Natjoints) said that there will be zero tolerance for lawlessness, threats, intimidation, and the closure of roads in the lead-up to and during elections.
Briefing the media on Sunday Natjoints Chairperson Tebello Mosikili said that they are aware of social media posts calling for a shutdown by a group of truck drivers this week.

Mosikili said that public order police are on the ground to prevent any disruptions.
"We call on the road freight industry workers to communicate their grievances within the confines of the law. We reiterate our stance, that no lawlessness and any form of criminality will be tolerated."
She adds talks with bodies representing truck drivers are ongoing to avert strike action.
