CAPE TOWN - The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) said rescue teams are searching for 11 fishermen lost at sea in Cape Town.
A boat carrying 20 fishermen capsized 30 nautical miles off Slangkop Point in Hout Bay on Friday.
So far, nine of those fishermen have been found unharmed, and it's still unclear what caused the boat to sink.
"The MRCC [Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre] Cape Town is coordinating the search and rescue operation," said SAMSA Spokesperson Tebogo Ramatjie.
A mayday broadcast has been issued to request assistance from vessels in the vicinity.
