DURBAN - Voters in parts of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) are set to be spoilt for choice on Friday as bigwigs from the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) intensify their election campaigning in the province.
EFF leader Julius Malema is set to conclude his two-day campaigning in the province on Friday afternoon.
His address coincides with the start of ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa’s campaign in KZN.
Both leaders are set to address communities in Pietermaritzburg in a tug-of-war for voters in the province’s capital.
This week has been a hive of political activity in the province as political parties race to the finish line.
The red berets say that Malema’s campaign is focused on boosting their support in the hotly contested province.
"He's been in the province on a campaign trail to ensure that the province is solid and the people of KwaZulu-Natal are ready to go and give the votes to the EFF, so he will be going here now," said provincial spokesperson, Mazwi Blose.
Eyewitness News also understands that there are plans for Malema to return to the province again before the polls.
The province is of interest to the party as it once held various strategic positions in over eight municipalities after the 2021 polls.
