ATM says quotas needed to ensure inclusion of LGBTQI+ community in spaces

JOHANNESBURG - The African Transformation Movement (ATM) says quotas are needed to ensure the inclusion of the LGBTQI+ community where there is a lack of visible transformation.
The ATM is among four political parties participating in the queer debate organised by the lobby group Queer Quantity in Tshwane on Friday.

The debate is centred around issues affecting queer voters ahead of the upcoming general elections.
ATM youth leader, Bafana Tshabalala, says queer visibility is still a major issue in many sectors of society.
"We need quotas when we speak of inclusivity. You cannot say people are marginalised and they are a minority group and do not include quotas when you want to bring about equality."
