JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police say more arrests are imminent in the murder case of a five-year-old child in Soshanguve.
This follows the arrest of two suspects in connection with a hijacking that claimed the life of Ditebogo Junior Phalane last week.
Provincial commissioner Tommy Mthombeni announced the arrests on Thursday morning.
As little Ditebogo Junior Phalane will be laid to rest on Friday, Gauteng police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni said police were working to ensure that this case was solved as quickly as possible.
Mthombeni said that a task team had been established to ensure this.
Two firearms have been recovered by police so far, with a manhunt underway for more suspects.
Mthombeni said that one of the firearms had already been identified as a weapon that was used during a separate hijacking in Akasia in 2022.
He said that police would continue to give updates on their investigation.
