JOHANNESBURG - The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has doubled its reward to R500,000 for information that could help police arrest suspects responsible for the murder of a five-year-old child in Soshanguve.
Ditebogo Junior Phalane was shot outside his home last week while his father was being hijacked.
This sparked public outrage in the community, with Police Minister Bheki Cele visiting the family on Tuesday.
PA president Gayton Mckenzie offered R250,000 on Monday, which has been matched by the party's deputy president Kenny Kunene.
Kunene said this reward was to help police get information from the community.
"You need the community to assist the police but the community also must get a benefit as they are taking a risk of also assisting police and that's an action that we are taking."
