The Act For Change programme of the Shoprite Group prioritises hunger relief and food security, backing over 230 food gardens and 4000 home gardens, spanning more than 4.5 million square metres.
This effort indirectly benefits around 60 000 people.
This initiative is facilitated in partnership with the Winnie Mabaso Foundation, which aims to support vulnerable and orphaned children in South Africa, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Raghubir says their primary goal is to tackle food insecurity by empowering farmers with skills and resources, aiming to generate employment and income opportunities for communities.
This includes an 18-month training and mentorship programme.
