JOHANNESBURG - The family of a five-year-old boy who was murdered in Soshanguve has described the pain and agony that they've been left to contend with.
Ditebogo Phalane was shot outside his home on Friday night while welcoming his father home.
His father, Ditebogo senior, was being hijacked in their drive when the criminals opened fire.
The Phalane family in Soshanguve has detailed harrowing accounts of how they heard gunshots on Friday night not knowing that five-year-old Ditebogo junior would be fatally wounded.

Family spokesperson, Gift Makoti, said that the past two days had been those of deep anguish.
"Today is Mother’s Day. The mom is nowhere near celebrating being a mother today because of what happened. It’s a tragic story."
He described what happened on the night.
"The father did not resist with the vehicle, he was cooperating with them fully. As to why they took the shots, we can only speculate."
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and ActionSA in Gauteng are visiting the grieving family on Sunday.
