DURBAN - Former African National Congress (ANC) president, Thabo Mbeki, will lead the party's election campaign trail in KwaZulu-Natal ahead of the upcoming general polls on Saturday.
The ANC is gearing up for its final push for voter support in the highly-contested province.
Mbeki is the latest from the ANC top brass to campaign in KZN.
The campaign also coincides with the Democratic Alliance (DA)'s final rally, themed "Rescue KZN".
The province has become a battleground for most political parties, as they are all pushing their final campaigns.
With 17 days left before voting day, the governing party is leaving nothing to chance.
Mbeki will take his campaign to the province’s capital city, Pietermaritzburg, with a wreath-laying ceremony at the graves of late struggle heroes, Johnny Makhathini and Moses Mabhida.
Mbeki will later go on a walkabout at the Edendale Mall and address a community meeting.
The former president will also visit the General Gizenga Mpanza and eThekwini regions on Sunday.
