JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has accused the African National Congress (ANC) of flouting the Electoral Code of Conduct after inviting Zimbabwe’s ZANU-PF to help it in the run-up to elections.
It is understood that the ANC enlisted the help of Zimbabwe’s governing party in the final stretch of electioneering.
The country will head to the polls at the end of the month in what is expected to be the most intense elections since 1994.
DA spokesperson, Solly Malatsi, said that the ANC's move was tantamount to political interference.
"ZANU-PF doesn’t deserve to act as observer at the May elections because this is the same party that has repeatedly violated Zimbabwe’s electoral laws to stay in power."
