SA's anti-doping legislation now compliant with WADA requirements - Parliament

CAPE TOWN - Parliament says its anti-doping legislation is now compliant with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) requirements.
The country now no longer has to worry about not being able to fly its flag at international sporting events.
The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) select committee on education and technology, sports arts and culture adopted the legislation on Wednesday without any amendments.

"We have received confirmation from WADA that the bill as adopted by the National Assembly is compliant to the code and all the issues identified in the corrective action report have been resolved," said Parliament legal advisor, Advocate Aadielah Arnold.
The South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport Amendment Bill now awaits full adoption by the NCOP before the president signs it into law.
