CAPE TOWN - An e-hailing driver has still not been arrested following an attack on two female passengers in Table View.

The 20 and 21-year-old women on Tuesday opened a case of assault with police.

The Western Cape E-hailing Association is calling on Bolt to take responsibility for the stabbing incident.

Police spokesperson, Frederick van Wyk, said that the attack occurred when the driver refused to take the two victims to their destination after the trip was paid.

"The driver wanted to drop them off at a fuel station near the entrance to DuNoon, as he said it was unsafe for him to go into Du Noon. An argument ensued, and when the occupants wanted to get out, the driver allegedly stabbed two passengers."

The two victims then shared graphic images of their bleeding wounds on social media.

The Western Cape E-hailing Association said it was concerning that acts of criminality continued to be perpetrated by Bolt drivers.

The e-hailing company has confirmed to Eyewitness News that the driver has been blocked from working pending an internal investigation.
