JOHANNESBURG - Bus commuters are urged to continue making use of alternative modes of transport as Tshwane Bus Service operations remain slightly disrupted.

This is the second day workers affiliated to the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) have not turned up for work.

The city said it did not have full details of the drivers’ grievances as no formal communication has been provided by the workers.

It added that the operators demanded to see the city manager before downing their tools.

Tshwane spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo: "They have 48 hours within which to return to work, failing which, disciplinary proceedings will be instituted against them. Currently, TBS is operating on skeleton personnel, with a total of 99 buses from different depots instead of the 160 that services our commuters on weekdays."
